Well Summer has come with a vengance over the last few days.
Today's temp was around 37 degrees Celsius which in the other is something like 98 degrees Fahrenheit. And it's not even the hot time of year!
On the business front we are cruising along very nicely.
Over the next few months all production will slow down dramatically in Coober Pedy as the temperature over Summer regularly tops 50 degrees(122 F)! So I you can understand why they live underground and try to only come out early or late.
A pretty tough life but the rewards are definately worth the effort.

With Christmas coming up we remind our customers, that if they would like to have there purchases for the festive season, then place your orders early to avoid disapointment.
I would also like to say to all the people in America, Well Done. You survived another election campaign. However I get an idea the campaign never ends just the faces change.

Aussie Opal Market on Discovery Channel.
Yes folks you read that right.
For long term readers of my blog you may remember late last year we were fortunate to be chosen by the Canadian arm of the Discovery Channel to have our World Leading Automated Opal detection equipment featured on one of their shows.
Recently I received a copy of their finished work which appeared on the Discovery Channel in April of this year.
Due to copyright we are unable to show you this video but I can assure you it is one of the most professional and informative pieces I have seen on Opal for a long time.
So a big well done to the Discovery Channel team and to all those who were involved in Coover Pedy.
